Would love to see them hire a UI/UX designer/developer ( I'm available. :) ). The light/dark mode exists, but it's rudimentary at best.

This happens for all new workspaces also. The Table of Contents picker shows Rev. 22 is selected, but when I try to select any verse, it doesn't highlight the picked verse, and nothing is shown in ...

Same issue. Have to restart app to fix. Makes the dark/light toggle pointless. I'm really surprised to see  this not fixed in 14.1.
