Official Request for Accordance MCP
In the advent of the AI, MCPs have become essential. Accordance has served the Bible study community for so long, but the big thing that's missing now is a way to access my Accordance library using AI tools like Claude Co-Work.
Since there was no Accordance MCP available, so I built my own, but it's only limited to texts and not tools.

Is there a way that Accordance could put out their own MCP that would connect with the easy install and user accounts in such a way where all texts and tools that you have and own in Accordance could be accessible through something like Claude, Co-work, or Codex? This would revolutionize our experience with Accordance and make our vast libraries of modules far more accessible!
My dearest friends at Accordance, this is my official request for an official Accordance MCP that's connected to our account and can access all of our text and tools that we have purchased over the years!

We are currently investigating the best way to integrate specific AI tools into Accordance. However, something like you describe is likely not a possibility in the near future, due to publisher agreements. Many of our current agreements include an obligation on our part to ensure that we do not allow a publisher's works to be accessible by specific types of AI tools. Any AI tools & features Accordance integrates into the program would need to be inaccessible to third-party services like Claude or ChatGPT.

MCP is a standard way for an AI like ChatGPT or Claude to connect to external tools and information. Think of it as a universal adapter. Instead of every AI application having to build a special connection to every database, file system, calendar, or other service, MCP gives them a common way to communicate with those tools.
So a MCP is eventually like a universal adapter that allows an AI to use things outside itself—such as your files, calendar, databases, or other programs.
