Atlas 2.2 non-latin Character option requested

As far as I can tell, I am unable to add a non-Latin text to my User Layer in Accordance Atlas 2.2. I am really excited about using the Atlas features to create teaching maps in the country where I live, but I really need to be able to add non-latin Characters to the map to make this work well. Is there any shot that this can be added in the near future?
