how hard would it be to move this button
to where it belongs in this vicinity, given how typing word searches and then specifying what subset of books to search are almost always concurrent actions:
how hard would that be?

No objection, but usually I don't bother to specify books or book ranges for search, as it is easy to scroll to the books or ranges that I want. But I can see it as a convenience if one, for example, wanted to search the books by Apostle John (John, 1,2,3 John, Revelation).
