I use MCP server to Connect Claude with different apps on my computer. It is probably the most flexible and easiest way forward to develop a bridge to use with an AI of choice to work with Accordance.

What is an MCP server? I have Claude, and would like to implement it if I can

    According to Claude

"An MCP Server (Model Context Protocol Server) is a program that exposes tools, data, and capabilities to an AI model like Claude in a standardized way.
Think of it as a bridge: Claude can't directly access your files, calendar, databases, or external services on its own — but an MCP server sits in between and gives Claude a defined set of actions it can call."

But I do believe integrating Natural Language search in Accordance would be totally awesome.

Check & see if ChatGPT will do this already.

If you want to try it out, I built an MCP for Accordance, it's on GitHub.

It's pretty cool to be able to pull up different verses and things like that, but it doesn't research tools, which is sort of my original goal for it. I wanted to check over here to see what the conversation was about Accordance MCP, but it doesn't seem like it's happened quite yet.

My dream would be to be able to access all of my tools and text in accordance with Claude. Right now, I can get all the Bible texts, but I can't get any of the tools, and I would love to be able to do that. When I built the MCP, it was blocked at tools because of copyright.

I would love for there to be a way for Accordance to verify the purchase history of tools and then allow me access through the MCP. That'd be amazing.

Can you explain what MCP is?  I would comment, not to throw cold water on your suggestion, that I have found ChatGPT incredibly good for Bible study, like quoting a verse in Hebrew and asking what it means, digging into the grammar, etc. Also good for a theology discussion.  Re the above, I am wondering what “natural language search” means.  Are there natural vs unnatural (artificial?) languages? Or is the search natural vs oddball?

Thanks Bodie for sharing :-) I've contacted Accordance concerning AI and the way forward, also the MCP option for integration, but I've not got any definitive answer. Would be gr8 if someone from the Accordance staff could comment on these feature requests.
