Navigation Controls on android when trying to use commentaries, etc too narrow

It is very painful/impossible to use the navigation bar on the right side of the phone when attempting to scroll through a long book, such as a commentary.  This is because it is so narrow you cannot select it.   The option is to swipe up or down on the main screen.  This can take forever.  

I have found a workaround, by enabling the assistant menu in the “Interaction and dexterity” settings of the “Accessibility” settings of Android.  This puts a screen control navigator on the screen, meant for people with disabilities.  

Suggest you add better native controls.
