    Nothing’s missing for me! I turned off Targum Onqelos and PJ for this screen shot. (Well, TO is open on the bottom right.)
    It seems that, for whatever reason—and that would be an interesting question—Targum Neofiti and the fragmentary targums felt the need to include this tradition to set up the verse. 

    I would venture to say that it is because the text presents HaShem as physically present before Abraham. The added words specify that it was three angels, although HMT says two angels in chapter 19 (making the third individual God?), and the added words also specify that it was “in the valley of vision” that the “Memra” of HaShem appeared to him.
