Better error message when not connected to the internet

Not a bug, but a user experience improvement suggestion:

I was following up on a bug report about sync errors today, when I repeatedly got “Error Processing Sync Request” notices.  I finally realized the problem was I wasn't connected to the internet. (We moved offices from a separate building into the church building and don't yet have internet set up in the new space).  Once I used my phone as a hotspot, all was well.

It sure would be nice if the error message could indicate that the device is not connected to the internet.
