Footnotes in a User Tool
AnsweredWhen I searched the forum to learn how to create footnotes in a User Tool, I found that there has been some interest in doing this, but that it is unsupported. I found a workaround that created notes that worked well enough for my purposes. It may or may not work for yours, I offer it FWIW.
I put my “footnotes” in a separate User Tool rather than at the bottom of the page. The footnote User Tool was created as a “Dictionary” type tool (available in Accordance 14). I entered the footnote numbers (1, 2, 3 … ) as titles on their own lines. The text of the note on the lines that followed.

Then in my User Tool, I referenced the note by typing the number for the footnote, selecting and formatting it, and making it a link. The link needs to be a Resource Link. The “Resource” will be the User Tool containing your footnotes; the “Field” is “Entry”; and the “Search” value your footnote number.

In your User Tool, the link can be formatted as you wish your footnote references to appear.

Thanks for this! This might also make for a good feature request too for official support in the future.
