Archive.org Posts of Old Forum Posts
We received a support ticket asking how to cleanly access the old forum posts on Archive.org so that users can link to them on posts here (so the links will still work when we sunset the old forums). We will investigate this, and if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to comment here, and we will look into it.

Brian Mitchell managed to locate some content on Archive.org, so he may have some pointers here.

The part of archive.org I found that captures old web pages is the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.
Unfortunately:
1. It seems to capture individual pages rather than websites as a whole, so if you wanted to browse the old forums, I don't think you could just grab the front page and click through to items of interest. The link you'd click on would go to <accordancebible.org/forum-page> rather than the page archived in the Wayback Machine. You could work around this by getting to the archived forum main page, hover over an item of interest and grab the link's URL (e.g. right-click → copy link address), then paste that address into the Wayback Machine. If the item of interest linked to other pages in the old forum, you'd need to copy/paste again.
2. If the search function of the old forum required server-side scripting, it probably wouldn't work from the Wayback Machine (the Wayback Machine wouldn't be running the Accordance server-side scripts behind the scenes), so it would be difficult to search for items other than those listed on the archived forum main page.
3. The link above goes only to the accordancebible.org main page, not the forums, and the latest snapshot of that main page was from 2023.
So if the old forums are worth archiving, I'd suggest keeping them alive on the accordance website.
